Cats boss Carter suffers heart attack

GEELONG Football Club president Colin Carter has suffered a heart attack due to a clot in one of the arteries.

Mr Carter was rushed to hospital swiftly and the prognosis for a full recovery is good.

Carter has been Cats president since December 2010. He was originally a member of the club’s board from 1988 until 1993 before he retired in order to join the AFL commission. Carter remained on the AFL commission until 2008. He then rejoined the Geelong board.

The club’s board was recently re-elected unopposed for a further three year term.
