PLAYING on the world stage in China was the gig of a lifetime, according to Geelong musician Jeff Lang.
The ARIA award winner represented Australia at a Shanghai World Expo after earning selection from a pool of candidates to entertain patrons at the international event.
Mr Lang said he had played in China once previously but the expo gig was a new experience.
“It was a good opportunity for me to return to China and expand on the work I did there last year. The shows were on an outside stage with loads of people around to listen.”
Mr Lang, a blues and roots artist whose parents still live in Geelong, said he would continue touring overseas after the expo.
“France, Germany and Spain are next up in October and November. After that I’ll be looking to write more songs for another album.”
Organisers expect the Australia Pavilion at the expo to receive more than seven million visitors from May to October.
