Boats, ute, spa in hauls from towns

Thieves have stolen boats and vehicles worth tens of thousands of dollars each from two towns on the Bellarine Peninsula in the past few weeks.
The burglaries at St Leonards and Indented Head were around the same time as thieves made off with a quad-bike from a property in eastern Geelong.
Police posted details of the thefts on Facebook with calls for public assistance.
The first of the incidents involved the theft of a 4.5-metre aluminium Quintrex boat and trailer from the front yard of a house on Jubilee Avenue, Indented Head, in late May or early June.
In the second and third incidents, police said “unknown offenders” stole two large securely-stored fishing boats from neighbouring holiday homes in Peter Street around the same time.
“Offenders appear to have returned and cut power at one of the addresses and stole an above-deck spa which would’ve taken at least three individuals to lift,” police posted.
Police believed the offenders might have left with the spa in the back of a vehicle similar to a late-model, blue, four-door Toyota Hilux.
In the biggest single heist, burglars stole a 2015 Ford Ranger ute, a late-model Extreme Game King 570 fishing boat and its EasyTow trailer from a home at St Leonards about 2.35pm on 12 June.
The total value of the three items would be around $120,000 based on new prices.
A day earlier thieves stole a red Honda quad-bike from the back of a truck parked on a nature strip in Coppards Road, Newcomb.
Police have asked anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
