A NEW glossy magazine produced to the “highest standards” is a vote of confidence in the Geelong region, according to its managing editor.
Tony Galpin said Geelong Coast Magazine (GC) was a unique publication for the area.
“This is the first real high-quality, glossy lifestyle magazine dedicated to the people and places that make our region so special,” he said.
“Everything is first class, from the writing and photography through to the design and paper stock. The standard is way above anything previously available in the region.
“At a time when other publishers are dumping products and staff, GC is a demonstration that quality local publications have a bright future.
“We thank the local advertisers who supported this initiative and look forward to the response from readers.”
GC went on sale at local newsagents and selected sub-agents this week. The cover price is $5.50, with the magazine to be produced quarterly.
A sister publication of the Geelong Independent, the debut 88-page edition combines a mix of feature stories, profiles pieces, fashion, reviews and community information.
Mr Galpin, also managing editor of the Independent, said GC’s local focus meant readers would see plenty of familiar faces.
“Please find yourself a copy of GC. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this exciting new magazine.”
