Geelong detectives are appealing for witnesses following an alleged sexual assault in Waurn Ponds at the end of 2016.
Detectives from Geelong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team released information Tuesday night as they searched for an offender.
Detectives said a woman was walking through a Waurn Ponds shopping centre Friday 30 December, about 2.30pm, when an unknown man sexually assaulted her.
They believe the man has then walked past a fast food outlet and left the shopping centre. He was wearing a blue singlet and shorts at the time.
Police wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything at the shopping centre around the time of the incident.
They urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
