Coles’ Lara ‘first’ to bring 120 jobs

Coles will create over 120 jobs when its first “market-style” store opens at Lara early next month, the company has announced.
State manager Leah Weckert said almost 80 new employees had been hired to work with staff transferring from other Coles supermarkets for the 10 December opening.
The supermarket would have Coles’ first market-style layout as well as other “new concepts” such as a MIX Apparel fashion range, the company said.
Store manager Trent Butcher said he was looking forward to the opening.
“I’m very excited that shoppers will have the opportunity to enjoy all that Coles has to offer for the first time in Lara and am confident our new team members will provide a top-quality customer experience,” he said.
“Our management team maintains over 60 years of combined Coles experience and I think the locals will respond well to this.”
Coles has been creating hundreds of new jobs with expansions and new store openings in the region over the past year and into 2015. A Torquay supermarket is set to open next after Lara.
