Buckets & Bouquets

BUCKETS to irresponsible Lara teenagers for hiding in stormwater drains to throw stones at cars, hitting mine. I turned to address their stupidity but they ran. I tried to report it to police but the Lara station was closed and Corio’s rang out. Why weren’t police manning the stations?
Johanna, Lara

BOUQUETS to all the bystanders for comfort and phone calls and to emergency services, particularly paramedic Ian and policeman Darren, for assisting with my vehicle accident at the intersection of Rollins and Ballarat Rds on Saturday night. Bouquets also to University Hospital Geelong’s emergency and Heath Wing 5 staff.
Extremely Grateful, Torquay

BOUQUETS to a dental nurse from Ballarat and on and off-duty paramedics for helping me after I passed out at Ocean Grove last Friday. Bouquets also to St John of God Hospital’s emergency department for its prompt attention and care.
Feeling Better, Ocean Grove

BOUQUETS to Newcomb Pathology nurse Koa for her empathy and kindness toward me. She was also very calming.
Angie, Newcomb

BUCKETS to the low-life whose speeding car hit my dog in Station St, Norlane, on Saturday night. I hope you have nightmares for the rest of your life. Bouquets to the young women who helped my wife and I with my dog. May only good things come your way.
Murray, Norlane

BOUQUETS to a kind and honest young couple for returning my wallet with everything intact after I accidentally dropped it at Thomson Football Club’s ground. I wish I had been home to meet you. You restored my faith in the honesty of people.
Eternally Grateful, East Geelong

BOUQUETS to The Belmont Aged Care Duggan Ward staff for looking after the residents while still having time to make visitors a cuppa as well.
Happy Visitor, Grovedale

BOUQUETS to Buckley’s Entertainment Centre’s restaurant for wonderful service, great meals and a happy atmosphere during our Melbourne Cup outing. I will return next cup day.
Mary, Torquay

BOUQUETS to the honest person who handed in my mobile phone at Woolworths Corio on Sunday. May the Sun shine on you always.
Very Grateful, Bell Post Hill

BUCKETS to the organisers and littering participants of a charity walk. As a regular rail trail user, I was appalled at the amount of empty water bottles spilling from and spread around the trail’s bins, which are not designed for such large events.
More Bins Less Plastic, Leopold

BOUQUETS to a fabulous couple who saw me trying to get a bike I’d bought for my son at a garage sale into my tiny car and who then drove it home for me.
Danielle, Newtown

BOUQUETS to the wonderful young cast of Forbidden, stage for one night only at Bell Park’s Australian Croatian Association Centre. I was inspired to watch youths of many cultures address issues important to their communities. They should all be proud of their efforts. I look forward to their future performances.
Trish, Newtown
