Here’s cheers to beer judge job

A Geelong brewer has won the job of a lifetime – head judge of Australia’s premier beer awards.
Warren Pawsey, head brewer at Little Creatures, will take on the role at the Australian International Beer Awards after acting as its interim head judge last year.
Mr Pawsey said leading judges in tasting top beers from around the world was “a great privilege” and he was “thrilled” to accept the challenge.
“The awards are incredibly important to the global brewing industry and a wonderful opportunity for brewers of all sizes to mix with the best in the business,” he said.
Mr Pawsey’s 27 years of industry experience has included judging roles at the World Beer Cup as well as in festivals in America and New Zealand.
Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, which runs the international beer awards, welcomed Mr Pawsey as head judge.
Society chief Mark Sullivan said Mr Pawsey’s “extensive experience and global knowledge…made him a valuable part of our dedicated team”.
