A planned community and health and well-being hub on the Waterworld site in northern Geelong is open to comment and ideas.
The City is developing its Northern Arts, Recreation and Community master plan and wants community input.
The project, part of the Corio-Norlane Structure Plan is being developed by the City of Greater Geelong in partnership with Regional Development Victoria.
Corio Ward Councillor Kylie Fisher said she was looking forward to hearing the community’s thoughts on the proposed hub.
The site currently includes Waterworld, Corio Library and Centenary Hall.
“I know many in the north and the wider northern suburbs are keen for upgraded health and well-being facilities,” said Cr Fisher.
“We are a large community that requires modern state-of-the-art services and the more we hear from people the better we can understand their needs.
“I encourage people living in the northern suburbs and the wider region from Bell Park to Lara to jump online and have their say as it’s the best way to get results.”
Cr Fisher said the Northern ARC project was the biggest whole of community upgrade to happen to the area in years.
“This community hub will be the biggest upgrade of health and well-being facilities our region has seen in years as it caters for children to senior citizens,” said Cr Fisher.
“I really want people to think outside the box when they fill out the online surveys – tell us what you want whether it be a performance art space, new waterslides to healthcare services. We want to hear innovative ideas. This is the time to voice your opinions.”
The online survey is at northernarcgeelong.com.au and is open until 30 April.
A draft master plan will be available for comment later this year.
