Woman trapped after crash

Emergency crews have rescued a woman trapped in a two-car crash on Torquay Road – the second accident on the road in just one day.
The woman became trapped after a T-bone collision at the intersection with Church Street just before 2pm, Tuesday.
CFA and SES crews used the ‘Jaws of Life’ to remove the car roof before helping paramedics to extricate the woman through the rear of the car.
They took approximately 20 minutes to free the woman.
An ambulance took the woman, believed to be in her twenties, to Geelong Hospital in a stable condition with head injuries.
The incident followed another crash less than a kilometre away on the same road in Belmont that morning.
Two cars collided before 8.15am at the intersection of Winter Street, causing traffic delays along the road.
The SES has had a busy start to the week.
On Monday crews rescued a 30-year-old driver trapped in his car by his legs after a crash on the Geelong-Ballan Road.
South Barwon SES Commander Scott Clark again urged motorist to take car on the road.
“Obviously people aren’t getting the message,” he said.
