Two people died and two others were fighting for life following four crashes in Geelong and the Otways on Saturday.
A Nissan 4WD rolled at Gellibrand just after 2.30pm, killing Barwon Heads teen Sarah Crimmins.
The 4WD was travelling along Frys Road near Colac-Lavers Hill Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, police said.
Sarah, 16, was a student at Bellarine Secondary College and had just begun performing as a guitarist.
She died at the scene despite her sister Louise, who was the other passenger, attempting to revive her.
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Clifton Springs, and Louise sustained minor injuries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives interviewed the driver and released him pending further inquiries, a police spokesperson said on Monday morning.
About the same time that day, a South Geelong crash claimed the life of a 36-year-old Warrnambool man.
A white Holden Commodore station wagon was travelling east along Barwon Terrace near Bellerine Street just before 2.30pm, police said.
Police believed a Toyota Lancruiser utility attempted to turn right into Bellerine Street when the collision occurred.
Paramedics took the Warrnambool man, who was a passenger in the station wagon, to hospital where he died a short time later.
No-one else was injured.
Geelong Highway Patrol officers investigating the crash were keen to speak to any witnesses in the area at the time.
That morning a car hit an elderly cyclist in Breakwater, throwing him from his bike.
A blue Holden Vectra sedan was travelling east along Carr Street and approached the roundabout at Breakwater Road about 11am, police said.
The car collided with a cyclist travelling north, knocking the 69-year-old East Geelong man from his bike.
An air ambulance flew the man to The Alfred hospital, where he remained in a critical condition on Monday morning, a hospital spokesperson said.
The driver of the Holden, a 60-year-old Drysdale woman, assisted police with their inquiries.
That evening a car hit a pedestrian at high speed at Ocean Grove.
A St Albans Park woman was walking north on Grubb Road when a car travelling the same way hit her, about 9.45pm.
An air ambulance flew the 28-year-old to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in critical condition with head and chest injuries.
Her condition had since improved to serious but stable, a hospital spokesperson said Monday morning.
