POLICE have charged a Belmont man with attempted robbery of five people in central Geelong last night.
Police alleged the 27-year-old approached his victims in James, Malop and Ryrie Sts just after 11.30pm.
He was arrested and questioned at Geelong Police Station.
Police charged him with three counts of attempted robbery.
The man is likely to appear in Geelong Magistrates Court today.
The arrest follows police telling a central Geelong traders forum last week that calls for help in the mall had fallen “substantially” in the past few years.
