CAR enthusiasts will motor to Geelong Showgrounds this weekend for one of the keenly awaited events on Victoria’s classic cars calendar.
Geelong Bay City Swap Meet attracts thousands of buyers, sellers, restorers, hoarders and collectors from all over the state.
Western District Historic Vehicle Club organiser Max McKenzie said Saturday’s 7am start was too long to wait for some enthusiasts chasing the holy grail of a particular part or piece of memorabilia.
Max estimated the meet could have about 500 indoor and outdoor trading sites doing brisk business until the early afternoon.
“There’s plenty of room for displays of bargains for motorists, restorers, collectors, craft enthusiasts and DIY mechanics,” he said.
