A SURFER has drowned at Bells Beach.
Other surfers helped the man to shore on Thursday morning but air ambulance paramedics were unable to revive him.
The victim was aged in his 50s.
Police are investigating.
The drowning death was the second at Bells in the past nine months.
A surfer aged 40 died in similar circumstances in July when he was carried to shore but was unable to be revived.
