Buckets & Bouquets

Buckets to a civic figure who has offended Catholics with an image of a woman on a cross.
Offended, Highton

Bouquets to City of Greater Geelong for authorising installation of fairy lights in trees at Highton Shopping Village during the Christmas and new year period. What a lovely sight it was. It was really appreciated.
Gwen, Highton

Buckets to a greedy firm managing an area of car parking. The machines accept payment only in hourly blocks. Motorists are fined $88 for overstaying a few minutes. After a successful appeal the firm still had the nerve to charge $30 for administrative costs. Also, weekend parking is not free.
Beware, Highton

Bouquets to Barwon Health if it has a fundraiser to build a car park, perhaps underground, when its helipad site is moved to a rooftop. Now the special care nursery is done, I’m sure the community would gladly donate for something else so badly needed.
Parking For The Community, Grovedale

Bouquets to everyone who assisted when my car broke down in the middle of High St. It was very much appreciated.
Green Capri, Newtown

Bouquets to Fair Dinkum Unbelievable (Buckets & Bouquets, 6 February). I’d like to add that Prince Phillip is a decorated war hero whose self-established charitable foundation has helped thousands of young Australians. Few of his critics can claim such service – or bravery.
Monarchist, Highton

Bouquets to everyone who attended my afternoon tea at Barwon Health and also for the beautiful camera I was given. Bouquets also to everyone who attended the party at White Eagle House, especially my former workmates for their sargeants skit.
Karen ‘Sarge’ Deller, East Geelong

Bouquets to Woolies on the Bellarine Hwy and to the kind person who handed in my bag with nothing missing.
Margaret, St Albans Park

Buckets to Ellen (Buckets & Bouquets, 6 February). I am well aware of cyclists’ often-cited right to ride two abreast. I simply ask that they show enough courtesy and respect to stay within bike lanes where they are marked. After all, the lanes have usually cost drivers parking spaces.
Angry Motorist, Torquay
