Elderly crash victim succumbs

A man has died following a two-car collision in Belmont on Wednesday.
The two cars collided on High Street near the corner of Watson Avenue, about 6pm.
The 87-year-old male driver of one of the cars was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died in hospital today.
The male driver of the other car was not injured, and police were investigating the cause of the collision.
Police urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
