Buckets and bouquets

BOUQUETS to the couple who made up the difference when I was unable to cover the full cost of my children’s treats at Reading Cinemas Waurn Ponds. You restored my faith in humanity.
Grateful Mum, Grovedale

BUCKETS to local people pushing for same-sex marriage. The institution of marriage is defined as between a man and a woman for the purpose of raising children in a secure family unit. Politicians jumping on noisy bandwagons should be wary of alienating traditional supporters.
Family Friendly, Newtown

BOUQUETS to a wonderful young man Chris, of Chris Nicol Electrics. Our double power point blew, leaving our fridge and freezer disconnected from electricity. We phoned Chris and he arrived in two hours, replaced the fault and was extremely pleasant.
John and Helen, Highton

BOUQUETS again to Julie, Susie’s sister-in-law, if she could please get in contact with me. I have misplaced her contact details.
Graeme, Bell Park

BUCKETS to ongoing whingers in this column about dog poo on nature strips. Is this the biggest crime in the world? If a poo on someone else’s grass is the worst of your worries then you must have a charmed life. Ignore the poo and it will eventually go away.
Get Real, Corio

BOUQUETS to my family for surprising me with a wonderful birthday lunch, especially Laura for hosting everyone. Your lovely cards have pride of place on my mantelpiece. I can’t wait for my cruise.
HM, East Geelong

BUCKETS to the morning peak-hour synchronisation of traffic lights on Latrobe Tce. What happened? Why are I and many others always now caught at the intersection of Ryrie St? This is surely an inefficient inconvenience for commuters. Previously the traffic flow was much smoother, with fewer stops at red lights.
Commuter, Torquay

BUCKETS to Unworthy Motorist (Buckets & Bouquets, 5 June). At least you got your name right. Your condescending attitude toward cyclists, some of whom admittedly break road rules occasionally, typifies the problems they face with so many motorists. As if you’ve never made a mistake while driving.
Cyclist And Motorist, Highton
