BELL POST Hill’s Marcus Lovell has been on a waiting list for supported accommodation for a long time.
Now in their 60s, parents Ron and Sandra hope to have Marcus settled “before it’s too late”.
“We both have bad backs and no freedom,” Ms Lovell said.
“You love your children but our friends are retired and have freedom but we’re stuck in a time zone.”
Ms Lovell said an initial waiting list for Marcus had been abandoned and restarted.
“I don’t know whether we’ll ever get there.”
Mrs Lovell said the respite facility she depended upon had only six beds.
“Sometimes we feel guilty because there’s so much other need in the community but we worry about what’s going to happen.”
