A MAN is dead after crashing his car then walking in front of a truck near Little River.
Police said the 23-year-old from Oakleigh died at the scene last night.
Police believe he was driving toward Melbourne on the Princes Fwy when he crashed into median strip trees just after midnight.
He then apparently stepped onto the freeway where the truck hit him.
Police asked anyone with information about the accident to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The man’s death lifted the state’s provisional road toll to 76, up nine on the same time last year.
