‘Scammer’ cuts up city suburbs

GEELONG Facebook users have posted warnings about a man allegedly scamming vulnerable residents for money after offering tree-lopping services.
A used named Betty-Lou Fraser posted on Geelong Police’s EyeWatch Facebook page that a short, “very tanned” man with dark hair and “chubby” build was travelling around the Newcomb-Whittington area asking residents whether they wanted trees cut.
“I felt he was trying to scam people,” she warned.
Therese Jolly posted on another page that the man was driving a ute with “fancy mags” and interstate number plates.
Residents reported sighting him in Highton, Belmont, Corio, East Geelong and Whittington.
