Geelong’s council refuses to release a $12,000 report on its “media communications activities”.
The Independent asked to see the consultant’s report but was told it would be unavailable outside City Hall. A statement quoting City corporate services general manager Jeff Wall said consultant Socom was “employed to provide feedback” on council’s media activities.
“Socom (was) engaged on the basis that it has undertaken previous work for the City and has a good understanding of local government”.
The City statement said Mr Wall commissioned the study.
