Police arrest two over Norlane death

UPDATE: Police have arrested two people following the death of a woman in Norlane on Sunday night.

A 28-year-old Norlane man and a 25-year-old Norlane woman were arrested at a house on Collins Street in Geelong West around 5am this morning.

They are in custody and will be interviewed by police later today.

The arrests follow the death of a 31-year-old woman at her home in Ibis Court around 9.30pm on 9 November.

EARLIER: Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman at Norlane.

Police said emergency services were called to a residence on Ibis Court around 9.30pm on Sunday after reports of an injured woman.

On arrival paramedics located a 31-year-old Norlane woman with severe injuries, understood to be stab wounds.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and an investigation commenced.

A 35-year-old Corio man who was at the house at the time of the incident has been conveyed to Geelong Hospital with minor injuries.

Two other men who were at the house at the time were spoken to by police.  They are not being treated as suspects in this matter.
