Snow Queen’s holiday freeze

By EMILY IANNELLO

Geelong will host Snow Queen’s Aussie Freezing Show during school holidays this month.
Following over 4000 shows around the world with The Wizard of Oz Show, production company Youngstars2.com will present the shows to provide both holiday entertainment and donations to Royal Children’s Hospital Toy Appeal.
Geelong Peforming Arts Centre will host one performance, beginning with a special pre-show singalong of songs from popular Disney movie Frozen, such as For The First Time in Forever, Do You Want To Build a Snowman and Oscar-winning Let it Go.
The show’s singing, dancing characters will encourage their audience to help the Snow Queen recover her lost magic wand.
Program manager Christerine Laul said children enjoyed the “high energy of the show and the fact they can participate in the story most of the time”.
Once the wand was found the audience could play and dance in magical falling snow, she said.
The young audience would also be encouraged to sing along with the Snow Queen, boo the Evil Jester, play games and learn dance routines and spells.
“There’s nothing as exciting for children than to be singing and dancing with their favourite story book characters,” said director Brian Laul.
“It’s almost like their dreams have come true.”
The show encourages children to arrive dressed up and to bring a toy or book to donate to the appeal.
GPAC’s Drama Theatre hosts Snow Queen’s Aussie Freezing Show at 10.30am on 28 September.
