Thieves steal Grovedale Scouts’ $5000 trailer

THIEVES have left Grovedale’s Scouts $5000 out of pocket after stealing their custom trailer, according to group leader Rob Bailey.
The trailer was last seen 5.30pm Sunday before it was discovered missing late this morning, he said.
The thieves had cut a lock from a gate to steal the trailer.
Mr Bailey held little hope of recovering it even though the group had reported the theft to police.
“The likelihood of having the trailer recovered is remote given that a coat of paint and new number makes it a different trailer,” he said.
“It was custom-made, so it’s a little unique.”
The trailer cost $4800 and contained two trestle tables worth $100 to $200 each.
Mr Bailey said the trailer had LED lights inside, with red carpet on a false floor.
He asked anyone with information about its whereabouts to phone him on 0419 221626.
