Intruders shoot man at East Geelong

POLICE have issued a public plea for information after a man was shot by intruders at East Geelong overnight.

Two men entered a McNeil Avenue bungalow where they confronted the man, aged in his 20s, shot him in the upper leg and then left the property.

The man was transferred to Geelong Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a police spokeswoman told the Independent.

The shooting occurred shortly before 8.30 last night. Reports suggest a woman was also present in the detached building but uninjured in the shooting.

“They’ve basically gone in, shot him the leg and left straight away,” the spokeswoman said.

“Police are investigating a couple of leads.”
