Snap Printing proprietor Paul Smart always thought his move to Geelong 10 years ago was – literally – a smart move.
Mr Smart was the inaugural participant in the Geelong: Smart Move campaign, aimed at attracting business to the region.
But he has come full circle after selling his business and handing over the reigns to Libby and Alvaro Revelo.
“I was an unknown in Geelong and the Smart Move program really connected me to the local business scene,” Mr Smart said.
“The program connected me to 20 local businesses and we still do business to this day.
“That was fantastic for someone like me coming in green. It gave me an immediate network.
“If ever such a program was offered again I reckon it would be fantastic for Geelong.”
Mr Smart said he would now help other businesses through not-for-profit organisation Small Business Mentor Services, which operates with Victorian Government funding.
He also planned to continue his involvement in the community through honorary work with Geelong Chamber of Commerce and as a board member of the city’s yacht club.
