Gunman on the run after Bell Post Hill shooting

A gunman is still on the run after a fatal shooting in Bell Post Hill just after 11pm on Tuesday night.
Police are on site and investigating after being told the man was shot a number of times following an altercation on Anakie Road, near the Braund Ave roundabout.
The man allegedly walked south along Anakie Rd with a woman and began waving his arms at passing cars.
A dark sedan pulled over and the man and the car’s occupants became involved in a confrontation.
A 36-year-old Norlane man was shot and died at the scene at about 11pm.
A neighbour told Sky News his wife saw the victim wearing a backpack with two girls in a confrontation with other people in a car.
He said there was yelling and screaming, as the man with the backpack was walking across the road with his arms out.
“She heard bang, bang, bang, three or four shots,” he said.
The sedan left the scene but its direction was unknown.
No suspect has been arrested.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au.
