TRUCKS and tractors, tools and toys – a vintage mechanical frenzy is set for Geelong Showgrounds this weekend.
Steam engines, internal combustion donks, oil motors, a vintage pull, a B24 Liberator exhibit — all these and more will be on show at the Geelong Classic Truck and Vintage Machinery Show.
The show’s Chris Quirke says a 1000-horsepower marine engine, Geelong model engineers, meccano club and much more will be on show as well.
“Nothing prepares you for the incredible smells of the oils and sounds of the steam mechanics chugging up and down,” he said.
“The amount of passion and workmanship in restoration and upkeep of many of the pieces of equipment will also amaze, and there is plenty a story to tell from the passionate owners.”
The Geelong Classic Truck and Vintage Machinery Show runs Saturday and Sunday from 9am at the showgrounds in Breakwater.
