Geelong Welsh Ladies Choir will perform songs from around the world in concert this Sunday.
The choir said The World in Union would be musical director Jeanette John’s last major appearance in Geelong before she retired from the role.
John would then “join the ranks of the choir” which she helped establish.
“She leaves behind a legacy of dedicated choristers who work hard, love their music and who are committed to maintaining the Welsh character of this choir.”
Selmo Carreira, who studied at Lisbon’s National Conservatory of Music and graduated from University of Evora in piano performance, would again accompany the ladies, the choir said.
“Also performing on the day are two talented students, Tiger Yang and Riley Doran, both from Christian College.”
The concert will begin at 2.30pm at Belmont Uniting Hall, Thomson Street, Belmont.
The choir said tickets, which included “a wonderful afternoon tea after the performance” would be available at the door.
