Plea for public to find missing mum

One of the daughters of missing woman Dawn Wilson has urged the public to join in the search for her mother who disappeared outside a Geelong psychiatric clinic on December 18.
During a press conference this week, Laura Campbell asked Geelong residents to search their backyards, sheds and garages for any trace of her mother.
“We’ve charted a helicopter to search around the outskirts of Geelong, we’ve viewed CCTV footage from Geelong train stations – everyone has been working hard,” Ms Campbell said.
Ms Campbell said her mother, who suffered depression, was feeling unwell in the lead-up to her disappearance.
“She knew she needed help and was admitted to the Geelong clinic on Thursday afternoon,” Mrs Campbell said. “She left about 7pm and we haven’t seen her since.”
Ms Campbell said the family was struggling to cope with the disappearance.
“Christmas was very hard – it didn’t feel like Christmas,” she said.
Police described the mother and grandmother of three as of slim build with blue eyes and blonde, shoulder-length hair.
“Mum’s a very caring person, usually a very happy person,” Mrs Campbell said.
“She didn’t have any medication with her and we’re very concerned.
“Mum, if you’re out there and you see this, we miss you, please come home.”
Geelong Police sergeant Adam Betson said authorities had received four “unconfirmed” sightings of Mrs Wilson.
“Unfortunately, no confirmation could be made,” Sgt Betson said.
“We’ve checked the waterways and there is nothing at this stage to suggest foul play or if any other party is involved.”
Sgt Betson said Mrs Wilson had not accessed her bank accounts or used her car since disappearing.
He urged anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
