Torquay actress Amy Price has returned home from her Los Angeles base to promote an award winning independent Australian film, How to Time Travel.
The film won Best Guerrilla Film at Melbourne Underground Film Festival, with all proceeds to be donated to Beyondblue to support people affected by mental illness.
Amy, featured on the cover of the 2014 summer edition of GC Magazine, said she was excited to be home for the first time since her move to LA.
“It’s great to be back in familiar territory. I’ve been living in LA for more than a year now and I’m so excited to be able to continue working on Australian projects,” Amy said.
“This film is incredibly humorous and quirky, which is great for me because I’ve always gravitated towards making people laugh.
“I’m hopeless at telling jokes, so comedic characters are a fantastic way to do what I love.
“The proceeds of the film will be donated to Beyondblue which is a not-for-profit that is incredibly close to my heart.
“Having experienced anxiety myself, I know how important it is to seek support and it’s great to be able to give back.”
The film centres on a character called Jones who proposes to his girlfriend Olivia, only to receive the worst possible reply: No.
Unable to handle the heartbreak, Jones invents a time machine to travel back and fix the dire complications within the relationship.
But when the time machine becomes operational, friendships, loyalty and love are tested.
Amy said she had landed roles in a range of independent films including The Suitcase and more recently The A Word.
“The LA movie and television scene can be a difficult market to crack. I’ve been fortunate enough to get my foot in the door and I will continue auditioning for projects that I can be proud of,” Amy said.
How to Time Travel is available to rent or buy online.
