As if AFL players aren’t under enough empirical scrutiny already, with measurements for everything from possessions to clangers and skin-folds.
KRock commentators set a new metric during the weekend’s Geelong-Richmond match when one, possibly Tim McGrath, mused in the background whether hirsute Tiger Bachar Houli had the AFL’s “thickest beard”.
Over to you, AFL stats guru Col Hutchinson!

During an interview with Geelong mayor and former Big Pictures photo agency owner Darry Lyons, the subject of a certain stoush between a billionaire casino owner and a Channel Nine CEO came up.
The photos of the said barney were reported to be sold for more than $200,000 but the reason behind the punch-up remained a bit of a mystery.
“There’s only two reasons why best mates would punch on like that,” opined Cr Lyons, drawing on his experience in similar situations during his previous incarnation.
“It’s either money or sex.”

Red faces in the Liberal camp after Geelong candidate Paula Kontelj this week broke an embargo the government struck with the Geelong Addy about the new Barwon North Health centre cum hospital – twice.
Paula tweeted a pic of her and Health Minister David Davis on Monday at 2.17pm and 5.39pm, happily announcing the $28.1 million commitment. She later deleted them but not without giving an interview and photograph to her former employer Bay FM and infuriating the Ryrie St thunderer, prior to its Tuesday morning edition.
Come Tuesday, Paula tweeted the same pic again, with the previous day’s date and time still on it.
