A Lara man was airlifted to hospital last night with gunshot wounds after he approached a man outside his Alison St property.
Armed Crime Squad detectives have been told the 49-year-old victim was shot after he approached the man about 9pm.
The offender fled the scene.
It is believed the injured man is in a stable condition.
The incident follows another shooting on Monday after a woman presented at a Geelong hospital with a single gunshot wound.
A 23-year-old woman, believed to be from Geelong, was dropped off at the hospital by an unknown man in a silver SUV about 5am.
Police are yet to establish the exact location of the shooting. No suspects have been arrested at this stage. The woman’s injuries were not life threatening.
