The winner of a $3 million lottery prize has come forward to claim their prize a week after the draw, but their identity will remain a mystery.
Lottery officials had no way of contacting the winner to confirm the news, which meant they had to wait for the winner to come forward.
While the winner has chosen to remain anonymous, the ticket was sold by Newtown Lucky Shop.
The owner of Newtown Lucky Shop, Barry Keating, said he was excited to have sold a winning division one entry.
“There has been a real buzz around the shop with everyone wondering who it was.
“We sold another division one winning entry a few years ago, so it has been nice to have one of our customers win again.“
The mystery winner was one of seven division one winning entries across Australia in the draw.
