A YEAR after unveiling an Australian cinematic first with state-of-the-art digital sound and projection, Reading Cinemas Waurn Ponds is undergoing a complete makeover.
Manager Dave Lovell said the renovation would introduce a “wow factor” to the complex.
“It’s going to be something special,” Mr Lovell vowed.
“Every seat in the place will be leather, like the upgraded seating we put into cinema one last year.
“We’re doing new carpet, new paint, a new candy bar and ticket box along with three automated ticketing machines.”
Stage two in December will add two premium cinemas of 75 seats each, offering hot food and liquor available to take inside.
The cinema complex, including Panache and Bella’s, will be closed during the renovations and is scheduled to reopen on 20 November with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 as the reopening’s first movie.
