JAN Juc surfers used their home-surf advantage to reach the finals of a national summer series round on the Surf Coast last weekend.
Tane Bowden and Mickey Robinson finished second and third respectively in the boys’ under-18s of the Subway Summer Series at Jan Juc.
Zoe Clarke and India Robinson were second and third in the under-18 girls, with Barwon Heads’ Jemima Hutchins fourth.
New South Wales’ Noah Cooney and Phillip Island’s Courtney Dunlop won the divisions.
Bowden also competed in the under-16 boys, which he won ahead of Point Lonsdale’s Max Lazarus in second and Jan Juc’s Xavier Huxtable and Tully Wylie in third and fourth respectively.
Bowden was stoked with his under-16s win.
“It was a hard final but still some fun ones and some good people to surf against,” he said.
“This is the first Subway Summer Surf Series event I’ve done but it’s good experience for me and I’ll probably do the next one (at Phillip Island).”
Jan Juc’s Grace Day finished second in the under-16 girls, with India Robinson third.
