Sunshine for Warriors after Bendigo win

By Josip Zilic

North Geelong Warriors face an unpredictable Sunshine in National Premier League on Saturday.
Sunshine has forged a reputation for catching teams off guard, winning after coming back from 3-1 deficits three times this season.
This weekend Sunshine will be out for atonement after a 6-0 loss to Richmond.
North Geelong will be buoyant after 2-0 win away to Bendigo last weekend.
The home side started with a string of forward forays but Warriors custodian Daniel Zilic had their measure.
A frustrated Bendigo resorted to grappling and wrestling tactics, raising the ire of the visitors.
Vito Cichello pinpointed a cross for Mark Paleka to head strongly for the Warriors’ first goal at the 15th minute.
Two minutes after the interval Bendigo keeper Christopher Xerri misjudged a Nathan Long through-ball, which Juso Julardzija pounced on to slot the ball past the advancing keeper.
Sensing victory, the Warriors gave Xerri a work-over in the following minutes with a series of balls going close.
Bendigo almost scored near the end of the match when a Steve Martin shot for goal was brilliantly saved by Zilic.
North Geelong coach Micky Colina was happy with the win.
“It was tough and physical (but) the boys stood up and kept their composure.”
