POLICE are appealing for information from the public after a serious collision at Elaine on the Midland Highway.
Officers said a silver Commodore sedan was reportedly travelling north on the highway around 6.40pm on Sunday.
Investigators believe the Commodore crashed into a 4-metre wide spreader which was parked on the side of the road.
The spreader was being towed by a tractor but was stationary at the time of the crash.
The occupants of the car, both men in their 70s and from South Ballarat, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor was unharmed.
Police wish to speak to anyone who saw either vehicle before the collision or who witnessed the actual crash.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
