MISSING Barwon Prison boss David Prideaux might have vanished in the Victorian Alps with evidence regarding underworld killer Carl Williams and murdered police informer Terrence Hodson and his wife.
News reports this week suggested the prison governor had a CD-ROM containing information from police interviews of Williams and father George at Queenscliff’s Swan Island when he went missing during a 2011 hunting trip.
Police had temporarily released Williams from custody to attend the interviews.
The information, previously deemed hearsay and inadmissible in court, could have been tendered under changes to the state’s Evidence Act.
Williams was scheduled to give evidence on the 2004 Hodson killings before he was murdered at the prison in 2010.
Senior police have denied the CD-ROM exists.
