A POLICE officer has been charged following the alleged assault of a man in Geelong in 2013.
The male western region senior constable was charged on summons on Friday night with assault and recklessly cause injury following the incident which occurred on 11 January 2013.
He has been suspended with pay to appear in the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 24 February.
