FINALLY FRIDAY: Rock season

Seasonal: Alternative rockers Sound of Seasons. Seasonal: Alternative rockers Sound of Seasons.

By Cherie Donnellan
SYDNEY alternative rockers Sound of Seasons are learning the perks of being in the musical spotlight – and fast.
Headlining a tour for the first time, lead singer Marcus Bridge told the Independent it was “amazing” to play to a packed house at Sydney’s The Lair.
“We weren’t expecting much because we haven’t been around long,” Bridge said earnestly. “But we nearly sold out the place. It was amazing.”
Sound of Seasons will play its latest EP, Make Believe, for its Geelong fans this Sunday at the National Hotel.
Bridge hoped Geelong fans would show the same “fantastic response” as other towns on the band’s tour list.
“We’re coming to these places not knowing if anyone would know our songs, but so far it’s just been amazing.
“We hope we can continue to impress people with our shows.”
Bridge said the band “worked hard” to write and record Make Believe, wanting to get the “nitty gritty” right.
“We rehearsed a lot to make sure the songs were exactly as we wanted them and [in the end] we’re happy with how they went.”
Sound of Seasons play the National Hotel on Sunday. For tickets, visit oztix.com.au.
