MP John Eren stable after Father’s Day heart attack

Lara MP and State Tourism Minister John Eren is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Father’s Day.
Mr Eren was at Geelong Hospital Sunday afternoon due to discomfort and would later suffer a heart attack while waiting to be treated.
He underwent surgery to insert a stent and remains in a stable condition.
Premier Daniel Andrews read a statement on behalf of the State Government on Sunday evening offering support to Mr Eren and his family.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our dear friend and colleague John Eren tonight, following a heart attack this afternoon,” he said.
“John’s family would like to thank the staff at University Hospital Geelong for their professionalism and care, and asks for privacy as he recovers.”
On Monday Mr Andrews appointed Martin Foley as acting Minister for Sport and Phillip Dalidakis as acting Minister for Veterans, Tourism and Major Events, while Mr Eren recovers.
“I am pleased to report that (Mr Eren) in good spirits and is expected to make a full recovery,“ Mr Andrews said.
