DETECTIVES investigating the death of a 60-year-old Newtown man believe a visitor to his West Fyans St home might hold vital clues in determining how he died.
A relative found the man unconscious at home about 1.45pm on 25 July. He died in Geelong hospital the next day.
A post-mortem on the body failed to clarify the cause of death, with police reporting the results were inconclusive.
Investigators have released a picture of a man they want to identify in the hope he may be able to provide vital clues relating to the death.
Police believed he might have had contact with the dead man in the days before his death.
Investigators also believed the man might have attended the West Fyans St property on 25 July.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the man’s death were still unclear but investigators were not yet treating it as suspicious.
They have appealed for the mystery man or anyone who can identify him to come forward.
Detectives from Geelong Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the death.
