Wild winds

Friday morning weather chart, showing the second front approaching.

Geelong was among a number of bayside suburbs battered by gale-force winds overnight, with more expected today.

The Bureau of Meteorology says gusts reached 133km/h in several places yesterday.

The bureau said another cold front coming up the west coast would see winds intensify again tonight.

The bureau forecast strong northerly winds of about 60km/h, gusting up to 100km/h, throughout southern Victoria.

The SES reported a high level of callouts, with falling tree branches a major concern, but no injuries to date.
