Torquay is set to be named home to Australia’s coolest company.
Local entrepreneur Brett Hollis has steered his company, Big Stick Adventures, into contention for the title of Australia’s coolest company.
The former Collins Street business banking manager decided on a career change in 2002 and has not looked back.
He formed Big Stick Adventures the following year, initially providing adventure tours to backpacker groups before shifting focus to the corporate market. His company now runs customised team-building programs including exotic sports car rallies, helicopter convoys, adventure races and surf and snow trips.
Big Stick has been named among three finalists vying for the title as Australia’s coolest small business in an annual award run by entrepreneurial magazine Australian Anthill.
With a client list including corporate heavyweights Coca-Cola Amatil, Rip Curl, Volvo, Harvey Norman, L’Oreal and ANZ, Big Stick Adventures also earned a place among 15 finalists chasing the title of Australia’s coolest company.
“I guess it’s a reflection of the fun and exciting things we do as well as our approach to business,” Mr Hollis said.
“Our team thinks what they do each day is pretty cool and it’s fantastic someone else recognises the great work they do.”
