AN ESTIMATED crowd of 10,000 people flocked to Skilled Stadium yesterday to witness Geelong go through its final paces before tomorrow’s grand final against Port Adelaide.
The crowd caused traffic mayhem around Kardinia Park as thousands arrived early for the Cats’ last trainning session to ensure they had a seat in the ground.
The crowd roared with delight when the team first emerged onto the stadium.
At various stages throughout the session the crowd erupted into chants of “Geelong, Geelong”.
But the biggest roar was reserved for Gary and Nathan Ablett, who emerged from the players race an hour into the light session.
The Abletts joined several players in a lap to acknowledge the crowd, while most waved to the faithful as they headed back into the race to prepare for tomorrow’s clash.
