Bikies claim “no idea” on drive-by shooting

Karen Hart
BANDIDOS Motorcycle Club members were remaining tight-lipped yesterday about a drive-by shooting at their Breakwater headquarters on Wednesday night.
Police said they believed three cars drove into Bayldon Court about 9.30pm before firing shots at the tin building and a parked car then fleeing the scene.
Police were reported to have found bullet shells from three separate firearms at the scene.
Geelong Detective Senior Constable Jamie Cookson said no one was injured during the incident.
“We don’t know exactly how many shots were fired but it was a lot,” he said.
“The Bandidos are not saying anything about the incident and we may never know why it happened or who did it.
“They (the Bandidos) claim they are unaware as to why it happened.”
“We believe at least two firearms were used. No one was injured and investigations are continuing.”
Bandidos club member Kim Sloan branded the attack as “sad”.
But he said he had no idea about the identity of the culprits.
“Someone doesn’t like buildings,” he said.
“It’s a sad effort but I really don’t know anything about it.”
Mr Sloan said the building had not sustained “much damage”.
“There’s just a lot of holes in the wall,” he said.
Investigators believed that a maroon VR Commodore, a light-coloured VR Commodore and a blue Daewoo or similar vehicle were seen entering the court around the time of the shooting.
Detectives said they wanted to speak to the drivers or passengers.
