Torquay is set for a minor economic windfall from State Government politicians and their staff.
Around 100 Victorian Labor caucus members including Premier John Brumby will meet at Torquay Bowling Club at the end of the month.
A spokesperson for Mr Brumby said the group of Labor MPs, ministers and advisors would stay in the town for the two-day meeting.
The spokesperson said participants would pay their own way for accommodation during the meeting.
“Around 100 people will be staying in Torquay for the meeting but they’ll be organising their own accommodation,” the spokesperson said.
“They’ll be staying in different places and it will not be taxpayer-funded.”
Member for South Barwon Michael Crutchfield will be the unofficial host of the visiting Labor members, with Torquay falling inside his seat.
