BUDDING young musicians will perform in Queenscliff on Good Friday to raise money for sick children, according to an organiser.
Jenny Limb said the second annual Kids Busking for the Kids festival hoped to top $36,000 raised last year for Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Artists aged from eight to 25 would rotate between 12 busking stations around the town.
“It gets kids out there and it gives them confidence to know they’re not out there for themselves, they’re out there for other children,” Ms Limb said.
“Usually when you go to a festival you see a lot of people doing things they’ve done for years but these are just children doing whatever they feel talented at. It’s fantastic.”
Ms Limb said the event would also feature other family-friendly activities including music workshops, steam train rides, ice-sculpting and an Easter colouring competition.
Busker register registrations were open at www.qmf.net.au.
