CHOCOLATE biscuits and bras – watch out for the household items pet ferrets take a liking to: you could lose some of your most personal belongings.
So says Ocean Grove author Heather Gallagher, whose new children’s book Ferret on the Loose is a happy jaunt through life with one of nature’s more curious species and children’s pets.
“The book is about ferret racing, something I have no first-hand experience in,’’ she told the Independent.
“But while working as a journalist, I interviewed a few kids about their ferrets and was inspired.”
She discovered the creatures were entertaining.
“Like the ferret Flash in the book, they are prone to stealing things such as Tim Tams and bras,” she said.
Ferret on the Loose will be launched at Ocean Grove’s Bookgrove and Queenscliff’s The Bookshop next week.
